doTERRA Citronella Essential Oil is well known for its ability to repel mosquitoes. This essential oil is the perfect oil to take away with you while hiking, camping and trips to the great outdoors.
While citronella may assist in repelling mosquitoes, it is also a fantastic oil for mood uplifting and creating an optimistic environment in your home. Add three or four drops to water for an aromatic surface cleaner which has a lemon balm aroma.
Used in aromatherapy applications, Citronella Essential Oil slows or prevents the growth of bacteria, repels flying insects. Interestingly, while citronella uplifts negative moods, it can have a relaxing effect on the brain in some people and a stimulating effect on the brain in others.
Citronella is also reputed to reduce muscles spasms, ease headaches, and boost energy. It is also a very effective fungal inhibitor, and this combined with its anti-inflammatory properties may make it an effective wound healer also.
